New York State Department of Health requires providers participating in Healthfirst's Personal Wellness Plan, Child Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care, Managed Long-Term Care, and Medicaid Advantage Plus plans to certify completion of cultural competency training for all staff who have regular and substantial contact with Healthfirst members. As a result, Healthfirst is requiring that provider staff complete the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) e-learning program Think Cultural Health Education - Think Cultural Health (hhs.gov) and submit the below certification. For Behavioral Health providers, New York State’s previously approved cultural competency training, https://omh.ny.gov/omhweb/bho/..., may also be taken to satisfy this requirement.

I hereby certify all staff who have regular and substantial contact with Healthfirst members have completed the annual required cultural competency training. I understand this training is required annually by the New York State Department of Health. I declare the above statement is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. Additionally, this will confirm I hold the authority to make this certification. Upon request from Healthfirst, I will provide a copy of the Cultural Competency Training certification.
